Thank you for all you do, even while sick!!! Is there any way to get the source of some of these comments? I’ve always been curious about Jewish baptism. Thanks!

As an artist who has often depicted scenes of Church History and the Restoration it seems that recent depictions by artists is to portray John the Baptist as ordaining Joseph and Oliver separately as seen in the Church History Museum and some publications. Joseph Smith states about the messenger from heaven (John); “and having laid his hands upon us, he ordained us , saying: ‘Upon you my fellow servants...’ “. That has always indicated to me that John the Baptist laid his hands upon Joseph and Oliver simultaneously. The more recent painting depicting laying on of hands individually is a nice painting but do you know if there has been a change from earlier art work depicting John laying his hands on their heads at the same time? And if so, why?

Thanks for all the time and energy you and your staff spend putting together this wonderful podcast. My husband and I always feel your spirit as you present the gospel material in a reverent manner. We feel your love and witness that you too have trials that have been overwhelming. Maureen’s bicycle accident and Scot’s COVID, the loss of family members. We all have trials that are for our learning. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. May you have the healing of our Savior so you may carry on.
