The Abrahamic covenant made it clear to the ancient Hebrews, and to covenant Israel today, that only through the promises made to Abraham could redemption, salvation and exaltation come to pass. The realization of those promises could only be fulfilled by and through the promised Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
