Sadly I have also experience this just as jkm has described. There have been hard times in my life when I and my family have felt truly alone even though we were very active in our ward. It seems to be human nature to judge and gossip others on things we know very little about. Unfortunately this behavior is more prevalent than we may want to admit. I have seen it in more than one ward where I have lived. It is truly heartbreaking and disappointing to discover that we cannot look to the support of our brothers and sisters when we are going through difficult times. We must learn to do better if we truly want to become Celestial beings and become more like the Savior. As covenant Church members we are all responsible to demonstrait true love and concern for one another, without judgment, so that no one or family feels like they are left to struggle all alone.

I agree the ideal is when your are struggling or "Broken" that your Ward should be a support as you and your family are going through these struggles, The reality is that you will be judged they will gossip about you and mistreat your children I've seen this in my own life in more than one Ward and with other families that are going through very difficult trials. The best you can do is keep your mouth shut and pray that the Lord will give you the strength to endure it. These Sisters are very naive.
