In a memo regarding hiring policies, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Friday that members who have been previously divorced as well as mothers with children in the home can now be hired to teach in a LDS Church high school seminary or college institute.
“This change makes it possible for families to decide what best meets their needs as it relates to mothers working while raising children,” the memo said.

I am happy to hear about the change. Unfortunately, it comes too late to be of effect in my life. Thirty years earlier would have made a difference. I guess I just do not understand why the Church is always so late with their changes. It is as if they move decades after the circumstances that are affecting real people in their lives.
