The LDS Church is expanding the resources it provides to local church leaders for suicide prevention, Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said Wednesday at the Utah State Capitol.

Elder Rasband was at the Capitol as part of an announcement of a new governor’s task force on youth suicide prevention and said youth suicide has reached a “crisis point.”

Elder Rasband spoke with reporters after the press conference and said The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be “updating and making available a new website on suicide prevention.” The site’s release is imminent.
