When our septic tank had a mass like that in it in the mid 1960s, the pumper truck driver told my dad to pour yeast into the tank and wait a week. Dad dumped a cup of bread yeast into the hole and put the lid back on. After a week, the truck came back and the operator pumped the tank with no difficulty.
