I am 63 and hula-hoop. I bought a 3 pound weighted one in a sports store (they also come in 5 pounds) and the weight makes all the difference in the world. It takes a little getting used to but is easier than a cheap plastic one. I do 500 hoops one way and then 500 the other. It takes about 11 or 12 minutes and feels good.
