Elder Calen Chan is a missionary with an unusual talent. He has learned the impressive obstacle sport made famous by YouTube; parkour. Rather than set his skills completely aside to serve his mission in Auckland, New Zealand, he is using them to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Below is a fascinating interview with Elder Chan as shared on the Latter-day Saint Pacific Area Facebook page. It serves as a wonderful reminder that in building the kingdom, we should not expect to become identical, but instead bring our uniqueness to our service.

This young missionary is proof that the Lord knows each of us intimately—especially what makes each of us our “best” selves. if we willingly allow ourselves to be His servants, the Lord will use our strengths and talents to help build the His Kingdom. The announcement about the new missionary application—the same application for everyone—is proof that in exercising our faith in the Lord, and His living prophet, we will each be given every opportunity to succeed in our service. We are called to serve—not in spite of our challenges—rather, because each of us has things we CAN do! There is a place for everyone in the Lord’s work!!
