The LDS Church has created an intriguing and beautifully-illustrated online display called “Tabernacle to Temple: Provo’s Legacy of Worship” that gives us the first view of the interior of the new Provo City Center Temple. We share some of these photos below.
The dates for the open house are January 15–March 5. Tours of the temple in Provo, Utah, will run every day except for the Sundays of January 17, 24 and 31 and February 7, 14, 21 and 28.
The public can obtain complimentary tickets online at tickets.lds.org or by calling 855-537-2000.
Because of high demand, the Church is releasing tickets incrementally and none are currently available. However, more tickets will be made available through the registration system in the coming days. The next availability will be Jan. 11 at 6:00 p.m.
The Tabernacle’s pulpit was salvaged from the fire, restored, and returned to the temple.
The Tabernacle’s salvaged newel post inspired some of the woodwork in the temple.
Stenciling from the old Tabernacle walls inspired designs for the new Bride’s Room in the temple.
The Tabernacle’s stained glass windows inspired designs throughout the new temple.
Colors and furnishings in the Celestial Room of the new temple remind visitor’s of past generations who worshipped here.
