Alma 18 is a restoration of the covenant after the preaching of Abinadi to the wicked Nephites. The place the covenant was restored was called Mormon. The body of water those people were baptized in was called the waters of Mormon. The prophet Mormon was named after a place where the people were restored to the covenant. The Book of Mormon might rightly be named: The Book of the Reestablishmet of the Covenant of God with the people. And is that not exactly what it has done?
