Beautiful article! I remember as a child being taught by my parents how sacred the chapel is and how I was not supposed to run or play there. This article brings that teaching full circle and reminds me to teach my children how sacred that space is too. How powerful hearing the chapel hosts the most sacred meeting we participate in. Thank you!!

Thank you, I never really looked at meeting houses in this manner, comparing them to the temple.

Thank you for this beautiful article. A few months ago our bishop asked us to remember that our chapel is a sacred space for the partaking of the sacrament. He asked that when we enter it before services we refrain from chatting with the neighbors and use the time to reverently to prepare ourselves for this great ordinance. I am going to forward this article to him.

Because of all the work and activities that are done in our meetinghouses each week, it can be easy to forget their sacred nature. Thank you for the reminder of our sweet President Monson’s reverence toward these buildings and their purpose in helping us feel the Spirit. It is the Lord’s house.

I love the message of this artlcle. Our temple has just closed for 2+ years, and I have been mourning this personal loss of making a 20-minute drive to attend on a weekly basis. These words were beautiful reminders that we can also experience sacred moments of worship in our chapels that have been dedicated for that purpose.

What a great story and true we just need to give the chapel's in our church the same respect that we give to our temples. They are houses were the Heavenly Father dwells.

After reading President Monson's story about sneaking in to the chapel and praying in the evening, using the light from the street pole light, I longed for that opportunity myself. I am currently doing that, but in the morning when I drive my daughter to the chapel for the early morning seminar.
