Thank you for this article. In the discussion about routing out the Gadiantons, you failed to mention that another way they were eliminated was with the help of natural disasters. When Nephi in the book of Helaman asked the Lord for a famine, the people repented and "swept away the band of Gadianton from amongst them." And of course, at the time of the Savior's death during all that incredible destruction, the wicked were all killed. Obviously, we would prefer an elimination of evil BEFORE the 2nd coming!

I worked in public education and in a 1986 a group came from Boston to tell us that in the Salt Lake area we were in pre-gang state. Measures could have been taken at that time to prevent gangs from coming , but they would have been severe. Now over 30 years later gangs are rampant in the Salt Lake area and are prime examples of the expansion of secret combinations that are literally around us. The gadiantian robbers are not in the mountains, they are here in our valleys.

A wonderful article indeed. By the number of comments I wonder how many have read it. A great number of Latter-day Saints are not awake. They are slumbering. Moroni, plead with us to awake to our awful situation. Perhaps when freedom is lost then we will awake as a people.
The Lord's servants have warned us long enough. Have we given heed to their teachings concerning this matter. Nevertheless I'm very hopeful for the future. The Lord will help us win this great spiritual war.

Beautifully written. I feel we are watching those secret combinations unfold in our government and judicial system. As you stated, the best way to know how to choose is to follow the values we hold dear, and ask ourselves, does the candidate follow those values? Do they uphold life, liberty, free speech and right to worship as we please? Do they uphold the Constitution or prefer judges who interpret and make or change laws, which is against the Constitution? It's critically important for us to discern - to have eyes to see, ears that hear, and a heart open to the whisperings of the Holy Ghost.

Excellent evaluation. However, with wickedness so firmly entrenched in so many places, I have very little hope that it can be routed out in time to save us. I believe the only thing that will save us now is the coming of the Lord. We shall see how long the Lord allows this wickedness to prevail before he puts a stop to it.
