Thank you, Maurine, for your beautiful, inspiring words that hit the heart in these troubled times. I, too, feel to make the most and best of it!

As I read your words today, Maurine, I found myself reflecting on Sheri Dew's recent comments about the feeling of grief and loss evoked by this present challenge. The pain it is everywhere. It's in people's faces. There is sadness, worry, disappointment, and fear. It is easy to get lost in such emotions, particularly when the entire world is swimming in them. Your article pointed me toward Alma's comforting words, "And the Lord provided for them that they should hunger not, neither should they thirst; yea, and he also gave them strength, that they should suffer no manner of afflictions, save it were swallowed up in the joy of Christ. Now this was according to the prayer of Alma: and this because he prayed in faith" (Alma 31:38). Your words today brought the same sweet comfort of the Spirit - and reminded me that now, more than ever, we all really are connected - strangely by a new common global enemy, and by the One hope we can all count on to find peace. Thanks for reminding us all that we have the power to shape how this event will shape us!

I have a great love for genealogy. I have known for years that we as Church members currently have the records available to double the size of the family search database, if only we would devote some serious time to doing so. We have that time available to us now. Will you index a little and group records into families, even if your lines seem to be done. You can help prepare the Italian records by indexing them. We are greatly blessed to be given the chance to host those government records on familysearch. There are about 250 million people in them waiting for us to index and research. Please join us if you are home. I can promise you will feel the Spirit and receive grace to aid you.

Such a perspective, such words of encouragement. Let us go forward with faith. It’s a wonderful time to be alive.

Thank you for your words—so timely and much needed. Before reading it, the thought came to me that this challenge could be an opportunity to show Heavenly Father and ourselves what we’re really made of. Then I read your words, “Who we are will be revealed by the Coronavirus Crisis.” A tweak in our mindset and a charge to make lemonade out of lemons will get us through.

Thank you for the insightful and comforting words. As my daughter was saying family prayer tonight, the thought came to me that this experience will give us an opportunity to show Heavenly Father what we're made of. Then right after the prayer ended, as I was scrolling through Meridian News, the title of your article jumped out at me—“Who We Are Will Be Revealed in the Coronavirus Crisis,” which further confirmed my small tender mercy. This experience can easily drag us down because you’re so right, life can be flat with no happy events to look forward to. But if we turn lemons into lemonade and tweak our perspective a bit, we will rise to the challenge! Thank you so much!

Dear Maurine - love your wise thoughts ...'We always have assess to Him"...in our "narrowed world." Thank you.

Thank you for your wonderful article. There was so much to glean from your inspiring words. I especially appreciate the warning “don’t go diving.“ We should all be on guard from Satan, who would wish us all to dive deeply spiritually, emotionally, socially and any other ways we allow him, while we tread carefully on this journey which is new to the whole world.

Maurine - I love the way you think. You truly are a gift! So glad my life has been touched by yours. Thank you!
