This year for the first time ever, the United States will play host to the annual conference of the World Congress of Families, an organization committed to the natural family unit.

Previous conferences have been held in Sydney, Prague, Amsterdam, Mexico City and Geneva, to name a few, and this year’s conference will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah with several prominent members of the LDS Church participating.

Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve is scheduled to speak at the conference. In addition, American activist Elizabeth Smart, Latter-day Saint blogger and author Stephanie Nielsen, as well as a number of Brigham Young University professors, are on the schedule at this year’s conference. In addition to these Latter-day Saint speakers, musical guests include The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and The Piano Guys.
