NOTE FROM CAROLYN:  For over ten years, our herbal detox has been the “go-to” surprising help for horrible Springtime allergies! Our own family greatly benefits from it, not having needed any prescription meds for the ten years since we’ve had this product, and now we share it with countless people who tell us the same thing: It works for hay fever! Symptoms are greatly reduced allowing us to go outside and enjoy the pleasures of Spring and function normally. Below are some more natural remedies that might be just what you or a loved one needs to survive the Spring.

It is estimated that 36 million people suffer with seasonal allergies, also known as hay fever or allergic rhinitis.  Pollen counts go up and some of us have immune systems that go into over-drive to fight what our bodies perceive to be a toxic threat.  The itchy, watery eyes, runny nose and/or sinus drainage, sore and scratchy throat, the loose and noisy congested coughing, the unrelenting throat-clearing and moody crankiness are the symptoms of the body’s war-fare mechanism to shield and help prohibit these pollens, though harmless, from entering the body. Prescriptions and over-the-counter remedies work to varying degrees, although many of these pharmaceuticals result in drowsiness and chemicals that bring their own set of problems.

My Miracle Detox is easily our family’s first defense!!! Just faithfully drinking it every day provides the benefits of several herbs that directly influence respiratory challenges.

After that? Here are our five favorite and easiest natural remedies for hay fever and Springtime allergies.

1. Wash it off every night before going to bed! Limit your exposure to allergens by showering and washing your hair every night.  Change your bedsheets often and your pillowcase every night — and bathe your pets!

This seems silly until you realize that being outdoors means the copious amounts of greenish-yellowish pollens floating and flying around outside land on everything — including you, your skin and your hair! They need to be washed off, just as you need to wash the windshield and outside of your car when it gets coated with Springtime pollens.

Showering and shampooing at bedtime removes them so you’re not literally laying in them and rubbing them onto your face, sheets and pillow case to re-infect yourself all night and the next night.

By the same token, Spring is not the time to use the clothesline outdoors for drying your clothing as pollens will collect on drying clothing as well.

If you have a cat or dog spending time outside, they are bringing the pollen INDOORS to you. They need to be bathed and shampooed as well.

2.  Local honey! How sweet it is! Go to the health food store and purchase both honeycomb and raw honey.

Throughout the day, chew on the honeycomb and enjoy up to 3 teaspoons per day of the honey, spread your use of honey throughout the day.

For an interesting article about the medicinal benefits of honey, including help for seasonal allergies, CLICK HERE for a fascinating article about honey and health.  This is from my source for information on bone health, www.saveourbones.com.  It turns out that honey is a sweet way to strengthen our bodies and defenses in many significant ways.

3.  Vitamin C!

Vitamin C is a natural antihistmine, antioxidant and antiotoxin.  During acute flare-ups of seasonal allergies, take 1,000 milligrams five times a day for four to five days. Follow this with 1,000 milligrams three times a day for three weeks; then take 1,000 milligrams a day for two months.

Some people with allergies find mineral ascorbate Vitamin C or esterified Vitamin C (Ester-C) easier to tolerate than simple ascorbic acid.

4.  Flavinoids To The Rescue!

What are flavonoids?  They are a diverse group of helpful chemicals in fruits and vegetables.  They are also responsible for the vivid colors in fruits and vegetables.  So, the brighter the color, the better the odds of it being high in the best and most beneficial nutrients.

These highly beneficial fruits and veggies will also enhance the effects of your supplemental Vitamin C!  Load up on apples, apricots, blueberries, pears, raspberries, strawberries, black beans, cabbage — especially red or purple cabbage — onions, parsley, pinto beans and tomatoes and watch allergy symptoms decrease.

5. Get a Neti Pot!

If you have not used a neti pot before, I suggest you go to Youtube and view a video on how to do it.  Flushing the nasal passages with a saline rinse seems reallllly weird the first time you hear about it or watch the video, but it feels WONDERFUL to get all that gunk out and to be able to breathe again!

I found this Youtube video that does a good job on this health tool. There are lots of other videos there too.  CLICK HERE

BONUS!

Avoid Foods That Make Allergies Worse and Drink Your Water!

Dairy, eggs, sugar, potatoes and starchy root vegetables, deep fried foods and processed foods may contribute to mucus production, although everybody is different.

Fresh, clean and gently cooked foods (think lightly steamed) is better than overly cooked.

Keeping all our organs hydrated and flushed with lots of water is only common sense, especially when your system is being attacked by the pollens, both visible and microscopic, that invade our environment during Spring time weather.

I hope My Miracle Tea and these tips will be of value to you so that you and your dear ones can make peace with Mother Nature and enjoy this beautiful time of the year!
