This was an excellent article and it is wonderful to see how we can apply things from this part of the scriptures to our lives "for our profit and learning" as Nephi tells us in part of 1 Nephi 19:23. Ted, thanks for the enlightened message. I, too, have been guilty of counting or checking for numbers of verses instead of relishing the opportunity to deeply study their application to my life. Even some chapters of the Book of Mormon, I "wade" through and hurry to get to the end because of their repetitiveness of wars and consequences. I am now thirsting after each word and finding application to my life. You'd think after serving in the Church for more than 50 years I'd get it. Now, I do! The learning and the thirst for discovery and application of scripturual messages is now almost consuming to me! I needed your wake up call! It solidified my guilt for trying to "rush" through the "insignificant" parts of scripture. Now they are my daily bread of life! Thanks again! Jim

Not only does God's Word tell us to study and share, it also tell us His awesome will of saving us from the wiles of Satan, the world and.....our own sinful flesh. When our study on God's Word...the WORD instructs us that heaven is our reward because, and only because, of what Jesus perfect life, His suffering and death has done.....that makes our hearts glad!! God's holy word is His instrument and He uses the Holy Spirit to work saving faith in our hearts to convince us of His grace for us. Gods Riches At Christ's Expense...GRACE!! Now we can lay our heads on our pillow at night knowing that when we die, heaven will be our eternal home. There is nothing we can do to change or help that! What comfort to know that when Jesus proclaimed from the cross "It is finished", He meant it!! How being a student of the Bible can teach us that truth and sharing it will be a "thank you" to our Heavenly Father for sending His Son, Jesus!
