I am 70 years old and grew up in a big city. Often my parents had no idea where I was and were not worried about my safety. We lived in a world where there was little crime and people looked out for each other. As early as kindergarten I walked to and from school alone. Most of the worries that plague parents today didn’t exist. It’s no longer safe to do the things that were safe when I was young. In my youth, 80% to 90% of people went to church on a regular basis. Today only 20% to 10% do. As church attendance has decreased, crime and other dangers have increased. Lack of religion has made a big difference.
