It is not clear to me what a parent should do as a result of the ideas in this article. It would be much stronger if it cited good parenting research and God's counsel on the subject.

I love this article! My children are raised, and I can honestly say it was a good experience. There were frustrating days. There were HARD days. The overall experience, however, was wonderful and a growing experience for both of us as parents, and for our children. I would have liked to have seen examples of fatherhood in this article, as well -- especially since the example in the beginning was an exasperating tweet from a father. Parenting is a partnership. If I had not had the support of my husband, it would have been quite a different experience. I've often said that I don't know how single parents do it. Fathers, we love you!
