While humanitarian programs are important and they do save lives and reduce suffering, the primary mission of the church is not to solve all the problems in the world, but to teach the Gospel, save souls and exalt humanity. We are preparing for the afterlife. Going through hardship will always be part of mortal life, right up until the Millennium starts. If you want someone to make everything all better right now, write a letter to Santa.

Thanks be to God for a remarkable prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, and his remarkable insights for the future of the church. I too felt very rewarded from General Conference. It was a tear-filled occasion when President Nelson gave us a blessing. I have re-read that blessing and feel the love of our Savior. The church will roll forward leaving those behind that are sad critics.

I was not even aware of complaints, and I often think the best course of action is to follow Lehi's example when he was mocked by those in the great and spacious building. He said, "We heeded them not." The Salt Lake Tribune and others will continue to criticize the church. We should not be surprised by this because it is a pattern that Satan will continue until the Savior comes again. We can continue to "Heed them not."

I couldn’t help notice the comparison between these expectations and those in Christ’s time. They wanted a Messiah who would come in and defeat the Romans, but his mission was far greater. While our church does care about what’s going on with Covid-19, it’s focus will always be on what we need to return to live with our Heavenly Father.

The dogs continue to bark but the caravan will keep on moving forward doing much good in the world as the church continues to reach out to help the needy. I am so grateful and proud to belong to a church that does so much even if in the eye of the unbeliever or the fake believer that are always quick to criticize no matter what or how much it does. Usually these people are often the very ones that will do nothing or give nothing and yet they are quick to criticize the church for not doing enough.

Perennial "doomsayers" will - and do - have their reward. Prophets , prophecies, and the resulting endless "impossibles" accomplished can never be popular with them.

I felt the conference was amazing and was more than I expected. The gospel is true and if you don't get it . READ the Book of Mormon. It will change your life.!

Hey---it's the Salt Lake Tribune---what did you expect? Fairness? Not from them!

As Elder Bruce R. McConkie observed, "Thank God that the caravan moves on!"

One has to wonder if those that criticize our reaching out to their neighbors and their communities to help. It is my belief that we should hold critics accountable for their words. Let’s turn the table and see just what they’ve done to help others. This is the ”mote and beam” syndrome. Frankly, I don’t know of any other church that does so much for others and I am grateful to be a part of the effort.
