I can also recommend Robert Starling's book "Really Inside Mormonism," which I am currently reading. Two additional books which I have found to be very helpful are: "Planted" by Patrick O. Mason (Chair of Mormon Studies at Claremont Graduate University), and also "Restoring the Ancient Church , by Barry R. Bickmore (FairMormon, c1999 and 2013).
