I would add two others: 1) The Truth! There are MANY other options to deal with cancer and they are far less painful, less expensive and actually work. Though the path they choose is theirs to make, they need to know the options available in order for it to feel like a choice and be empowered to take charge of the situation. 2) Provide opportunities for them to serve. It will direct their attention elsewhere and help them to still feel useful.
