I never met him but have been a fan of his writing/speaking for over 40 years. Wish I could have been in some of his classes. This was beautifully written. Thanks for sharing the story.

Agree with my friend, Jo Ann Okelberry! Loved his words, teachings, speeches, publications and miss him! Thanks for sharing interesting insights into his exemplary role as a father too! Nadine Allen, S. Jordan, UT

Your father's life touched mine, and so many around me, in so many ways, and that influence continues today. When he passed away, I read one of his contemporary's comments:"Everyone thought they were Truman's best friend". So true...when he was with you, he was with you, and treated you like you were the most important one...something I am sure he learned from his father:)

This was so sweet to read. I was in the first class in the Honors Program at BYU. Your dad was my philosophy teacher. I had no clue about philosophy, but I did learn, and I enjoyed the class and especially his teaching. Looking back, I think he had a profound affect upon me because of his strong testimony and shared it with his students. I learned that man searches for meaning for his existence and that there are many ideas about our purpose here upon this earth. Even with all the different philosophies, your dad taught us that the right way is the Lord's way. Thanks for sharing his life with us.
