Another example of the amazing spirit of Elijah and the humble dedication of a couple united in purpose. I admire and am so thankful for the time, energy, resources, and insight given freely by Brother and Sister Petty. Thank you.

Enjoyed the article, hopefully, as these records are discovered they are quickly digitized and and made available for those who will be able to locate their ancestors after perhaps hunting for so long. Glad to hear of the many tender mercies and miracles along the way, His hand is in this work.

Fantastic and inspiring. It's obvious how the Lord is using you to open up opportunities for those who have been forgotten. We will pray for your continued success, and more miracles.

I always enjoy reading Jim's articles. I got hooked when he wrote "The People of Parley Street". Keep up the great work Jim!

This is a great find. I'm African American and I'm a family history consultant in the Round Rock Stake in Texas near Austin, TX. I would like to do a presentation on this find to African American genealogist at the Carver Museum in Austin. Please send me information to for this. Thanks.

Wonderful! This will be the eternal bonus for these families for the trials they endured as slaves! What a wonderful work you are doing! It's amazing that as 'property' these children were considered valuable enough to be preserved in the historical records. It is sweet justice!

It is common fact in Canada that it was practised everywhere in North America, it just goes to show you government propaganda in the schools, if they wanted you to know you would have! :)
