Hello Brother Anderson, I was a part of a BYU Nauvoo travel study group that came to Kirtland in 1997. You were our tour guide around the area, as I see you have done for so many others. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your love of the Savior and teaching about these significant years. I have held a deep love for Kirtland and all the miraculous and marvelous events because of your willingness to spend the day teaching us. Thank you for your faithfulness and devotion. (I still remember loving your delightful laugh!)

In 1975 I served as a missionary in and around Kirtland. Back then there were no Church history sites open to the public, except the Temple. I firmly believe it is holy ground as I experienced the most holy experience of my life in "the land of Kirtland."

What a wonderful article. I had no idea that Kirtland was so sacred. Where may I get a copy of Karl Ricks Anderson's book about Kirtland? Thanks for this article, it has been an eye opener and has made me more determined to pay closer attention to our CFM lessons this year.

I visited Kirkland in 1983 and very much want to go again now that the church has built it up so much. I just finished Brother Anderson’s book on the Christology of Kirtland. I would recommend it to everyone. It was an in depth and very well written book of the education of the Saints as they gathered in Kirtland on the Divinity of Christ and the difference between fact and generations of fiction.

Thank you for such a glorious article. Thank you for bringing all this very pertinent and amazing info to our attention, at just the right time, of our reading and study in the Doctrine and Covenants and the Come Follow Me program. This is so much appreciated!

In the 1990s, I lived in southeast Michigan, and our ward Relief Society would sponsor trips to Kirtland. I went on two of those trips, and on one of them, had the signal honor of singing in our choir during a meeting in the temple. The RLDS Church, as it was then called, graciously gave us permission to be in that sacred edifice. I have never before or since been so aware of angels surrounding us, singing with us "The Spirit of God". It is a precious memory.
