My mother is not a member of the Church and has never read the Book of Mormon. A number of years ago during a visit she told me that she had had a very strange dream and did not know what to make of it. She went on to describe a dream with the same elements as Lehi's vision of the tree of life. She was awestruck when I brought out my scriptures and read to her about Lehi's dream.

I can definitely appreciate and accept that Joseph Smith Sr could have had such a similar dream while in Canada a few years back I picked up a book written by one of the First Nations people (Indian fellow). It was intended to help the young better understand about life and how they should govern themselves. I began reading the book and the similarities of what he said and what the Book Of Mormon teaches was both chilling and exciting The fellow was not a Mormon. But there was a tree which similarly described the tree of life broken down into four caitagories Not every thing was the same but many so close to Lehis dream I loaned the book to someone to read and do not remember to whom so I am not able to refer back to it but there were so many things that were similar about how we should live including medical and staying close to that great spirit. Do not even remember the name of the book now. Wish I did
