Such great insights, Maurine. Thank you for sharing such a personal, poignant story and the lessons from it. What a miracle that the Father of us all really wants to speak to us...His children. His words have been that changing force numerous times in my life. I don't think eternity will be long enough to thank Him for His goodness.

Timely reminder. One of those times when I read something that I have known for a long time, but needed to read it from someone else's perspective to receive a needed reminder. In itself a revelation!

Sometimes, putting yourself in a place to receive revelation means just that: putting yourself in the right place. I have found that often my best insights and revelatory moments occur when I am where I should be: in a priesthood leadership meeting; in a training meeting associated with my calling; in the living room of a family to whom I have been called to minister. In other words, in the very places we often make excuses for not being. One of the most incredible spirit-filled experience of my life occurred in a 4-hour priesthood leadership session held on a Saturday afternoon as part of a multi-stake conference. It was a meeting that a number of invitees avoided because they had concluded that leadership meetings are long and boring. Presided over by Elder Marvin J. Ashton, it was a meeting such as I had never had experienced before and has been a building block in my testimony ever since. I have often asked myself, what if I hadn't been there? President David O. McKay taught that testimony (revelation) comes as a natural consequence to the performance of duty. When I am where my duty calls me to be, I am in a perfect place to receive revelation.

Thank you for helping me remember the steps to revelation, especially the part that gratitude plays in pulling back the dark curtains to reveal the light.
