Amen! This story reminds all of an important truth--that revelation during a meeting often comes to faith seekers as a result of just being in the right place at the right time, regardless of the speaker or topic. "Wherever two or more are gathered in My name..."

Thank you! I agree with your statement that many members are "cultural members." Every one of us has to search and find our testimonies......

Hello the odds are not 1 in 500 (it has nothing to do with how many Mormons there are) you are one and we need to know haw many churches choices there are. Therefore the odds are 1 in 700,000 ---- assuming there are 9,999 Churches and 1 non-church of whatever brand, so that makes 10,000 chances out of 7 billion that one will be born into the LDS church then this reduced somewhat because we need 2 parents to make a child so that makes the chance 1 in 350,000 I'd say-------------nice article brings back memories of my special event when I discovered the truth of the Restored Gospel.

" it is not enough to be a cultural Mormon" this is the most important part of your article. Too many members are "cultural Mormons" and not Christian Mormons w/ a testimony of Christ!

"During my teens it occurred to me the astronomic unlikelihood that I would just happen to luck out and land in the one, true church. Of the billions of people on earth, how could I have hit the jackpot? I mean, literally, what are the odds?" Literally, assuming 7 billion people on earth and 14 million members of the Church, your odds are 1 in 500. Not great, but not exactly astronomical either.
