so when did attending BYU be part of your inflexible life plan - what about those poor Utah student who were told not to go to BYU because it is for those from the mission field and other Utah colleges were just as good

The Lord has blessed me with wonderful and talented children. Two of them served full time missions and another one is currently still serving her mission. Given our family's financial situation, i have prayed long & hard to know how we could ever support our children through school. It was certainly a great blessing (and the Lord's answer) for all 3 of them to be accepted to attend BYU Provo and BYU-I. But even if not, I fully know that God would have provided other ways and opportunities to bless our children. The important thing is to know and trust that God and the Savior are aware of our needs and involved in every detail of our lives and that things will all work out for our good.

As a faithful Latter-day Saint who graduated from two other fine universities and who never once even considered going to BYU this article made me smile a little. Well, one man's burden...
