LYFSGUD
If God Sent You a Text Message
By Laurel Christensen

As a former Young Women President, current member of a Stake Young Women Presidency and mother to three daughters, I am always on the lookout for gifts that remind girls that they are precious daughters of our Father in Heaven. This book, LYFSGUD, If God Sent You a Text Message, by Laurel Christensen, is ideal for that special girl on your list.
Beginning with the question, if God WOULD text, what would He say, this book shares messages to youth about important topics that Heavenly Father would want His children to know. There are nine different topics ranging from the title topic, LYFSGUD to GO & DO, and many wonderful messages in between. At the end of each devotional is a space called “His Message to You.” With the pen provided (the packaging of this book by the way is just adorable) youth can write down thoughts and impressions, messages of inspiration they receive while reading the devotionals. Once recorded, these important messages of inspiration will help youth remember those divine impressions given by the Spirit, just for them.
I love this book. It really is the perfect gift to give to the “youth of a noble birthright” who are standing as wonderful examples of the believers in today’s world.
Prince Etcheon
and the Secret of the Ancient
by JoAnn Arnold
Published by Horizon
Etcheon always believed he would live and die in his small village that he moved to with his grandmother, Granna Fela-safe, loved and protected.
But with Granna’s death comes new information about Etcheon’s royal heritage and destiny, which suddenly throws him in the middle of the battle against a wicked king. On the run from hideous beasts sent to kill him, Etcheon is saved by a mysterious girl, a tree with magical powers, and several amazing animals. With his new friends to protect and teach him, Etcheon undertakes a journey that will challenge his abilities and define who he needs to become-a warrior-prince charged to save his people.
Prince Etcheon is a well-crafted fantasy novel filled with excitement, adventure and magic. From the beginning, as you see young Etcheon lose his beloved Granna, then discover who he really is and what is expected of him, you will find yourself emotionally attached to this story. His destiny has been decided for him and Etcheon nobly and courageously accepts his fate as he is taught by animals the skills he will need to carry out his mission.
Wonderful gospel parallels and symbols fill with this story with deeper meaning as Etcheon grows in knowledge and stature, embarking on his dangerous journey.
Those who love fantasy will appreciate the great attention to detail that JoAnn Arnold has taken as she weaves this magical story. Others who are looking for something new to read, will immediately be captivated by the plot and characters who carry the story and make it enjoyable and memorable.
I was carried away as I read this book. Visually descriptive and beautifully written, Prince Etcheon and the Secret of the Ancient, is a wonderful story that will have you turning each page with anticipation. Children and adults alike will enjoy this book.
