“Look unto God. Don’t let doubts obscure your way. Fear not,” President Jeffrey R. Holland, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, told youth during the October 2025 worldwide youth broadcast titled “Look unto Christ,” made available online for wards and stakes to watch on Sunday, October 26, or afterward.

The recorded broadcast from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also featured messages from the Young Men and Young Women General Presidents, imagery and music that encourage young women and young men to reflect on their experiences throughout the year with the 2025 youth theme, “Look unto Christ,” and to continue finding strength in Christ by always turning to Him.

Youth have been invited to gather as wards or stakes to view the broadcast, then reflect and share how they have come closer to the Savior throughout the year and bear testimony.

‘Decade of Decision’

Speaking from the visitors’ center of the historic Kirtland Temple in Ohio, which the Church acquired in March 2024, President Holland encouraged youth to embrace their teenage years, which are “some of the happiest in your entire life.”

This “decade of decision” is full of “life-shaping, future-shaping activities,” as well as opposition, just like the challenges faced by the early Saints in Kirtland, Ohio, he said.

Highlighting the significance of friends, temple ordinances and missions, President Holland talked about his missionary service in Great Britain, describing it as the most impactful experience of his life.

“If I can talk to you about a veritable pot of gold at the end of your rainbow, it is that combined experience of receiving your temple endowment and going on a mission,” he said. “There are lots of reasons for this, but at the top of the list is that it is God’s work. He already knows you, and perhaps for the first time in your life, you get to know Him deeply and personally.”

Referring to the scripture in Doctrine and Covenants 6:36, which the 2025 youth theme is based on, he said “doubt not” is “one of the most important lines of scripture we could give a young man or young woman.”

“‘Fear not,’ … addresses perhaps the one temptation we can all identify with. Everyone one of us has reason to feel fear sometime,” he said. “Please trust us. … Please know we have walked the same path you are walking and face the same issues you are facing.”

President Holland concluded by testifying, “I am more certain than anything else I know in this world that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the way to peace and salvation. I know that Joseph Smith, exactly the age some of you are now, saw God, the Eternal Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is the most important book I have ever read in my life, and I’ve read a lot of books.

“All these things I know because I’ve tried to ‘look to God in every thought.’ I’ve tried to pass by my questions to find them answered later. In virtually every instance, I’m not fearful for the future of the Church because of you.”
