Betrayed partners are understandably terrified to offer forgiveness and compassion to their unfaithful spouse. They’ve often already offered the benefit of the doubt, forgiveness, understanding, and compassion over years when they were being lied to and manipulated. So, the idea of extending this back to their partner doesn’t feel safe.

I join my dear friend and mentor, Dr. Wally Goddard, to talk about how we can first feel compassion from Jesus Christ in our own lives as a way to begin offering compassion in our marriage in the wake of betrayal. Dr. Goddard frames the discussion on compassion through the story of the Good Samaritan from the teachings of Jesus Christ found in the Bible.
