Everything you’ve said is absolutely true and helpful. I did all of this. I also found journaling and corresponding with a friend who was going through a divorce helped me process the pain. Journaling helped me understand what happened and why, and helped earn me learn from the trauma. I went to a 12 step for codependents of addicts and worked hard to lose the behaviors I’d acquired in the dysfunctional marriage. It all worked out. Second marriage is fabulous.
