Last Ounce of Courage would be my TOP Movie. Very appropriate for our time and extremely inspirational. I even bought it online and am showing it to every one that I know.

Wally, Christmas Oranges is an LDS movie. You can buy it at an LDS bookstore or maybe get it at a library.

If you want to see a film made in 2012 about Lincoln without all the inaccuracies and vulgarities of the well-promoted "Lincoln", there is a much more inspirational movie called "Saving Lincoln". It is much more accurate and focuses quite a bit on Lincoln and his learning to understand that he had a mission given to him by God that he had to accomplish, even if the task was one he would much rather not do. I prefer accuracy and cleanliness to big Hollywood names and promotions!

Can't find Christmas Oranges on Netflix. Am I missing something? How do we rent the movie?

Thanks for the recommendations Peter and Shirley! Flora, you're absolutely right. I think its omission had more to do with me writing while exhausted. The ole' brain wasn't working so good. LINCOLN features prominently in my little awards article, THE 2ND ANNUAL MORMON MOVIE GUY AWARDS (https://www.mormonmovieguy.com/2013/02/2nd-annual-mormon-movie-guy-awards.html). Have a look. You're right, it was a brilliant film.

The movie I liked the most in 2012 was " The last ounce of Courage." If you haven't seen this you have really missed a good movie.

I liked your list but wondered why Lincoln wasn't included. Maybe it didn't sound religious but abolishing slavery even though it only began in Lincoln's time was certainly what Heavenly Father wanted.

An old film but well done and inspirational is "The Painted Veil"
