Fantastic article! Coincidentally, our bishop mentioned many allegorical comparisons within the movie Pinocchio in our ward conference last Sunday, focusing on character Jiminy Cricket being similar as the gift of the Holy Ghost in leading us, and concluded that our Heavenly Father loves us. And he aimed this talk at the kids... perhaps inspired to give that talk at the last minute.
Sadly, we lost a young member of our ward to suicide 2 days later. He likely dealt with comparisons, and definitely with depression while navigating the teenage environment of school and friendships.
Some keen observations there about self-pity (through comparisons) being a hindrance to having gratitude!
