Darla, there are few people that I know who are more qualified to explain this concept. It helps make sense of many of the severe trials we go through. They are so we will know through experience the things that we were sent to Earth to learn. Beautiful article.

Thank you for this inspiring article. If we only open our eyes we will see that the Lord is blessing us beyond our comprehension. As I review the blessings in my own life I rediscover that each testifies anew that Jesus Christ lives, that this is His Church and through it we are blessed beyond measure. I, too, love the Book of Mormon and feels a witness of its truth every day as I read it. Bless you, Darla, for sharing so much of your own life with us.

I know that the first vision really happened, because the Holy Ghost bore witness to me of that fact.

Latter-day Saints generally take the word "Testimony" to refer only to a testimony of the Gospel and truthfulness of The Church. Testimonies are given in and of many other things and situations. I suggest that the same principles apply.

This is excellent and you do know! Your trials have been great and yet you still stand-as a testimony to all others-that Christ’s atoning sacrifice has all power to overcome all things. Thank you for your courage to share.

This perspective on the piece of the 23rd Psalms you mention has always provided me much hope and strength: yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; for there could be no shadow if there was no Light.
