Before I joined the church (and I hadn't intended to) I found myself with some spare time and decided to read a bit from the Book of Mormon. I hadn't read much in it before. I didn't get past 1Nephi 10 when suddenly it all made sense. Nephi's written record (chapter 1) of what his father saw concerning Christ coming to the world and his own desire (chapter 10) to see that event as his father did. That witness to me was enough to convince me to join the church as soon as I could, and I did just that. In 50+ years I have never regretted it.
