I appreciate you bringing up the question of candida and carbs. I have suffered with chronic candida for 10 years. It was eating whole food plant with no added sugar plus pro b phresh probiotics that finally cured me! I never knew our good biome needed lots of fiber to thrive. It has been 3 months now and I have not had to even use the probiotics because I have rebuilt the good microbiome by eating plant based FIBER . For the candida "die off" period of a 10 days I stayed clear of the starchy veggies like mashed potatoes, breads, yams. But it was SO FAST getting cured that now I base 45-60% of my diet around the starchy vegetables. It really is a discussion that needs to be addressed!! Thanks!
The problem is that most people don't eat from their own gardens, and many that do rely on GMO-altered seeds. If we returned to heirloom seeds and ate farm-fresh produce carbs wouldn't be such an issue. Something like 90% of the corn grown today is GMO, and it enters our bodies in various forms (remember high fructose corn syrup?). Remember, carbs are complex sugars. One article I read recently surmised "no wonder the US has such a diabetic epidemic when the USDA had breads and pastas as 6-8 servings per day on the food pyramid." Many have learned that most of the carbs and pastas we consume are highly processed, empty calories that quickly break down and do little in the way of providing dietary fiber, or proteins when coupled with legumes. (I am still shocked that the Church offers white rice via Distribution and the food storage kits.) We all need to learn more about what we eat, the best combinations of foods for our bodies and strive to "plant a garden" (as best as circumstances will allow) as counseled by prophetic leaders.
Satan wants us to be miserable as he is, what better way than to have us putting the wrong stuff in our mouths. The only way is to follow the Savior's council as contained is D&C 89. Being a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have always followed the don'ts, but in the last 18 months I have followed to dos, (no animal foods). That is a whole food plant based (WFPB) way of eating. I'm now in my 79th year have no chronic diseases, enjoy my food and feel great.
Hmmmm.... "Biomes" sounds like she thinks she knows everything. There are other things that carbs promote... one is candida. Perhaps a "fast" from carbs for a season (winter, whatever) and use of some good healthy protein might help cure that problem.
