Holland, I agree. The world is trying to destroy the purity and chastity of men and women on all fronts. There is no room for the world in the gospel of Christ. Men and women are held to the same standards of behavior, marriage is only between a man and a woman, and, while the Church welcomes all who want to follow Christ, it does not 'need' any particular person or that person's talents. It is we who need Christ, not the other way around. I've seen the results of discounting or ignoring the commandments of God over and over, and they never change. All of them come because those who reject Christ feel the need to exert unrighteous dominion over others. Power and control are the antithesis of Christ's message of service and charity towards all.

Hollandpark, there is a clarification needed, "That there shall be no sexual relations except between husband and wife, who are legally and lawfully wedded."
Slippery slopes lead people to look for loopholes where there are none.

So, are you saying that the trafficking and exploitation of women and children is okay? Seriously, I don't see what your argument about gay marriage has to do with this, I don't understand what your problem with the Church has to do with this article, either. This is an article about a stance by the WORLD CONGRESS and the problems with sex slavery and exploitation in the world. It has NOTHING to do with you. Get your head out of the sand.

Holland's comment is right on. I'd just say that he probably heard from the same LDS Lesbian that I heard from a couple months ago. And her stand, identical to what Holland mentions, was that the Church shouldn't keep her out of the good graces because the Church needs her, they need her talents and abilities. I replied that there are a great number of people - sisters with a wide range of talents and abilities, an d they don't really have a shortage, don't really have a need to use persons who make their own rules vs following the commandments. That's when she said she is perfectly moral because she is married and is faithful to her lady.
Ah, what a world.
As to legalizing prostitution thus making things OK, what a crock. So then faithful wife fixing the dinner, looking to having loving time with her man, would have even less confidence of what he has been into, and maybe why he doesn't have the spark. I just can't believe someone said that. I've seen places where it is ignored if not legal, and it was not good.

article: "It is a pivotal victory for the brothel owners, pimps, sex traffickers and johns who can now claim that their actions are acceptable and there’s nothing wrong with what they do."
Much like the line I heard recently from a supposed LDS Lesbian who has a Same Sex Marriage. "The Church can no longer tell me the sex I have is wrong or immoral--For I am 'married'---And isn't that the criteria the Church sets up? "That there shall be no sexual relations unless they are legally and lawfully married.''?
Well, I am legally and lawfully married now. And I expect the Church to cease with finding my relationship and marriage as somehow second class or unacceptable. I have followed their own requirement of 'legally and lawfully wed' completely and fully."
Just interesting to hear 2 conditions where decriminalizing something -or making it legal- is leading to it being considered (in the minds of some) as acceptable or nothing wrong with it.
