"Elder David A. Bednar has warned that the Spirit speaks quietly and withdraws quietly. When we distance Him, He recedes—not out of divine sulking, but out of a profound respect for our choice to walk alone." I have felt this physical desertion. It was merited and noted at the time as the moment when He could no longer stay with me. I didn't feel His return as profoundly but I never want to feel His loss again.
