Thank you for sharing this powerful perspective. I think many people can relate to the concept of wanting to keep their relationship with God above the mess of everyday life. Imagine getting a new pair of high-performance hiking shoes but never wearing them on the dusty, rocky trails for fear of getting them dirty or wearing them out. If we don't put those shoes on and get out there to brave the peril and imperfections of the world, we may feel "safe" for a time. But we'll miss out on so much, more than we realize, and more than we would ever choose if we could see the end from the beginning. Thanks for the reminder to take to the trails, brave the climbs, and embrace the dirt, sweat and tears, together with our fellow travelers. The triumph of reaching the summit awaits us all.
