President Benson's talk "Beware of Pride" was actually read by President Hinckley.

My favorite memory is of President David O. McKay walking among the conference attendees sitting on the lawns of temple square between the morning and evening sessions of conference with President Tanner in tow in 1966. He stopped and chatted with everyone he could get to. President Tanner had been our Stake president in Calgary before he became a General Authority and when he spied us, he brought President McKay over and introduced us to the prophet. My wife was in tears and never forgot how she felt when the Prophet shook her hand. They dont do that now.
