Also, according to Mosiah 8:13, a seer is also someone who is also authorized to use a seer stone or "interpreters" if God authorizes him to do so. Usually, it would be, as this scripture states to translate records. But, Joseph Smith received many revelations recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants with a seer stone. So, if God authorizes it, President Monson or any of his sucessors would have the right to use a seer stone by virtue of the Apostolic office they hold.

I am pretty certain that there are a lot of members of the Lord's true church in the Salt Lake area who have forgotten what the gospel is about. I read of the great difficulty that surrounds the choice of a place to put a homeless shelter. The reaction seems to be that we can't have those people in our area. I wonder what Jesus would say to all of his supposed saints (whited sepulchers) who oppose the very idea. He would likely say "depart from me, I do not know you.
