Here are some fun ideas that will help you if you are planning to have a Halloween party or just make Halloween a special holiday for your family.
Halloween Sandwich Surprise
Make a Halloween face on a cheese sandwich. Cut a Jack-o-lantern face on one slice of bread. Add cheese and second slice of bread of bread underneath bread face. Serve plain or toasted under broiler. A clever combination is dark rye bread with yellow cheese.
Ghost Sucker
For a creative treat to give to neighborhood ghosts and goblins, make ghost-like suckers from string licorice or thin ribbon, round suckers and soft which tissue. Place a sheet of tissue over the top of each sucker, gather it under the candy, and tie tissue with black string licorice or narrow ribbon. Make two dots for eyes on the ghost with marker.
Apple Cider in a Jack-O-Lantern
This jack-o-lantern is a punchbowl and centerpiece. You will need to thoroughly clean the inside of a pumpkin. Make sure you remove all the fibrous strings! Paint a jack-o-lantern face on pumpkin using acrylic paints or permanent marking pens. Refrigerate pumpkin until ready to serve the drink. Pour cider or other Halloween punch into cold pumpkin. Pumpkin cools your drink and delights your guests.
Dry Ice Jack-o-Lantern (For adults to prepare only)
You will need:
Pumpkin
Knife
1 large can to go inside of the pumpkin
Very hot water
3- to 5-pound hunk of dry ice
Gloves for your hands
Choose a pumpkin large enough to hold the can. Clean the seeds and membranes from the pumpkin and carve a friendly or frightening face. Place the can inside the pumpkin and then the hot water. You are now ready to create your special steam effect out of the pumpkin.
With glove take chunks of dry ice and put it in the boil hot water. The hotter the water the bigger and longer the steam will last. When the pumpkin stops steaming you can take the can out and pour the cold water out. Now pour more steaming hot water and you will see the steaming effect again.
Now you have several good ideas that will bring a special Halloween effect to your party and your family.
