A conglomerate view of some of the places we will see in Istanbul.
Arrive in Istanbul, where ancient empires once ruled and the gospel later flourished. You’ll be greeted and taken to your hotel for a restful evening. Enjoy your first taste of Turkish hospitality over dinner, as we gather and prepare for the sacred sites ahead. Few cities on earth carry the weight—and wonder—of Istanbul. Straddling two continents, it is the only great metropolis that quite literally stands in both Europe and Asia, divided and united by the shimmering waters of the Bosphorus. For over two millennia, this city has been the beating heart of empires—first as Byzantium, then Constantinople, and now Istanbul—each layer adding richness to its story. Here, the past is not buried—it rises all around you. Istanbul is one of the most unique cities in the world with a population of more than 15 million containing 18% of the population of the country. Istanbul sits on the Bosphorus Strait, a natural and very narrow waterway that connects the mysterious Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. Only 19 miles long, the Bosphorus is a vital, strategic international shipping route.

I've signed up for your October 2026 Turkey tour. When I checked with Morris Travel a few weeks ago, there were still only 16 people signed up and there needs to be a minimum of 25 people for the tour to happen. Do you have friends that are still planning on signing up that will for sure bring the minimum up to 25? If not, I'll start looking again at other tour operators. Your description of Day 3 differs from the Morris website. Are we now flying from Istanbul to Ankara to save almost 5 hours of driving time? Please proofread each day's description more carefully. For example, on Day 16 there are 3 typos: Begin the day at Topkapi Palace, once home to many sultans. Built in the mid-1400’s following the conquest of Istanbul, many sultans have since built more buildings and annexes to create the remarkable palance complex that we will see today. Then stand in awe at the Hagia Sophia—a Christian cathedral, then a mosque, and now a museum echoing centuries of worship. Cap off your journey with a unforgettable visit to the bustling Grand Bazaar one of the world’s oldest and largest covered markets spanning 61 streets with over 4,000 shops! Tonigh we have our farewell dinner rich in flavor and gratitude. Is there any way we can add Istanbul's Basilica Cistern to our itinerary on Day 15 or 16 since it's included in most other guided tours that I've researched? I have little interest in spending much time in the spice or Grand Bazaar and will tour the Cistern on my own if I have to. It is open from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm. The cost at the official ticket site (https://www.passo.com.tr/tr/etkinlik/yerebatan-sarnici-the-basilica-cistern-muze-bileti/11704322) is ₺2,145.00 ($47.28) with a higher nighttime admission fee from 7:30-10 pm. Thanks for your reply.
