In 2010, a mine in Chile collapsed trapping 33 miners 2,300 feet underground for more than two months with no way to escape. You may recall the news headlines as the entire world watched and banded together to help with rescue efforts.
The miners had food and water for three days IF they rationed and shared amongst themselves. Instead of turning against each other for the scarce and valuable resources, what these miners did FOR each other is a story to be shared and celebrated.
In their darkest hour, trapped underground, not knowing their fate, they turned to God and they prayed. Their hope and faith never wavered.
CNN just posted the following story to mark the 5th year anniversary of this event, and the importance of the miners’ faith in God. In November a new feature film, The 33 will be released starring Antonio Banderas, Lou Diamond Phillips, Rodrigo Santoro, and Juliette Binoche. Here is the just-released trailer.

After reading the articles about Planned Parenthood and the Book of Mormon musical, I really needed to read or see something inspiring and wonderful. I can't wait to see this and share it with friends. Thank you to those who produce and create wonderful faith-building stories and movies.
