For Church members, the ultimate temple and family history goal is to provide saving ordinances for their ancestors.
The new Ordinances Ready feature in the FamilySearch Family Tree app searches and finds ordinances that need to be done for people you are related to.
Learn more about it in the article “Ordinances Ready: FamilySearch App Feature Helps Find Temple Ordinances for Your Ancestors” on FamilySearch.org.

It is a great step forward, especially to help turn our hearts to our own ancestors and help participate in their temple ordinances, but, as has been mentioned, please double check the ordinances to be certain there are not duplicate individuals who have already had their temple ordinances completed. If you are not sure how to do that ask your family history consultant in your ward or visit a local family history center before performing those ordinances.

An exciting program, except...many of the names are not ready, especially with names to be sealed. I just tried to pull 5 more couples to be sealed, and only one couple had all of the previous ordinances completed. Some of the individuals had not even been baptized (just click on an individual's name and it shows what ordinances are completed). The same problem is often found with child to parents--many of them still have ordinances to complete. I reported this problem a couple of weeks ago, but nothing has changed. This would seem to be an important correction to make to the system.
