A new Easter concert that celebrates the life and ministry of our Savior Jesus Christ was produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Europe and will begin airing on March 26, 2023. Entitled ‘The Redeemer’, the program features music from Jenny Oaks Baker’s album of the same name and was recently filmed with her as well as a youth orchestra and choir in Goshen, Utah. This is the set that was home to the Bible Videos series filmed years ago.

Elder Hans T. Boom the faith’s leader in the Europe North Area, said, “This is the first time the Church in Europe has produced a concert especially for the Easter season. The blending of beautiful music, powerful imagery and the art of world-renowned European painters, brings an additional meaning to this very special season. We hope members and friends of Church feel inspired by watching it as well as increase in their desire to follow Jesus Christ and to be a good influence for the world”.

Before each musical number, a well-known Christ-centered work of art from a European artist will be introduced. Masterpieces from Leonardo Da Vinci, Carl Bloch, Angelica Kaufmann, Henrich Hofmann, Francisco de Zurbarán, Bertel Thorvaldsen, Simony Dewey and others will be featured. The narration has been provided by the Swedish entertainer, Louis Herrey, at the Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark, where the renown Carl Bloch gallery is located. Along with his brothers, he won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1984.

Reflecting on the concert, Louis Herrey mentioned that he believes that every good and virtuous thing points to Christ.
