The first time Maurine and I really came in contact with Nathan Pacheco was at the Rome Italy Temple dedication in March 2019 as he sang to the youth at the devotional that Saturday evening. He sang with such passion I could hardly breathe. And from my vantage point as a press photographer in the audience I could see that Sister Wendy Nelson was very moved by his singing. I wanted to know more about Nathan!

It was very exciting for us to learn that he spent his youth in Northern Virginia and graduated from Oakton High School—not far from where we raised the younger end of our family for 11 years.

As it says in his own official page: “Nathan Pacheco is a classically trained tenor who has a passion for reaching out and uplifting people through music. He has been featured globally in live performances, including touring the United States, Canada, and Mexico with Yanni; performing with Latin singing sensation Olga Tañon; touring England, Scotland, and Wales with Katherine Jenkins and the National Symphony Orchestra; performing for Prince Charles in conjunction with the British Forces Foundation and the USO; and performing with orchestras and symphonies around the US…

“Nathan produced and arranged his first sacred songs album, Higher, which was released in February 2017 and was ranked #1 on Billboard for best classical and classical/crossover album.” Nathan is of Brazilian origin and has been blessed with a remarkable, passionate, powerful tenor voice. He is so approachable as a person and therefore his voice and music can penetrate the deepest reaches of your soul.

Nathan has spent a great deal of time in Italy, performing with the Opera Festival of Lucca and studying the language. In his travels around the world, he has strived to learn the languages he performs in. He can speak and compose in English, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish.

Nathan served for two years in the Campinas Brazil Mission. He and his lovely wife, Katie, have three children, two boys and a girl.
