The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the Singapore Temple.

Groundbreaking services for the Singapore Temple will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Elder Kelly R. Johnson, First Counselor in the Asia Area Presidency, will preside at the event.

The Singapore Temple was first announced during the April 2021 general conference by Church President Russell M. Nelson. Less than two years before, on a visit to Singapore in November 2019, President Nelson said he prayed for a day when the Saints there would have a temple of their own.

It will be the first temple constructed in Singapore, a sovereign island city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. The Church has been present in Singapore since 1968.
