Ten generations ago, at least two of my French ancestors married women of the Kaskaskia Indian tribe. This can be proven by my genealogy, but not by my DNA. Although, as far as I know, all of the other lineages that I am descended from do show up in my DNA, my Native American ancestry does not. Lack of proof does not mean proof of lack.
